AMERICAN PRARIE CONSERVATION ACT

Grasslands and prairies are disappearing from the United States. This bill includes a country-wide provision called, “Sodsaver.” The preservation of grasslands in this bill will both 1) direct the USDA to collect data and report on the loss of grassland habitat across the country and 2) reduce taxpayer-funded incentives to convert critical grassland resources to cropland.

On 1/12/18, our Conservation Affairs Committee signed on in support of this bill.
